Chris Cassidy
Hi There, and welcome to the section of our website where I tell you about myself and our team of massage therapists. My name is Chris Cassidy and I have been committed to the massage therapy field since 1998 when I first learned that I was passionate about excellence in massage therapy. I graduated from The Academy of the Healing Arts in Palm Beach, Fl. after completion of my BA in English and Theatre from Boston College in Newton, Massachusetts. After finishing college I had no idea what I was going to do with my degree. I have always been interested in health and always enjoyed sports. When I began studying massage I was fascinated with how incredible the body is and its ability to heal itself. It was immediately clear that I was going to devote my life to the world of wellness and all the possibilities within this field.
It is really quite simple: I wanted to perform a service that had a positive effect on individuals which would create a ripple effect of positive energy through the community in which I lived. I started my practice in Palm Beach, Florida (my birthplace) and serviced some of the most demanding clients I have experienced. This immediately helped me hone my skills at creating a fanatical customer experience. I was fortunate enough to gain the respect of many notable figures including physicians and prominent members of Palm Beach Society. During the season (from Thanksgiving to Easter) my schedule was packed with as many as 9 hours of massage daily. I was primarily providing a mobile service and would go from estate to estate(beautiful homes) to provide my clients with wonderful massage services.
I had felt the urge to move to California and found San Diego to be a perfect place for a massage therapist that loves to surf. Initially I worked at a couple of different places, a day spa, a massage office, and a chiropractic office. I was fortunate to build up a nice clientele, but found that I was really more inclined to work for myself. I started some grass roots marketing efforts and ended up building a very rewarding mobile massage business. In fact, it became so rewarding that I knew it was time to take the step towards opening my own office. I opened my office(One room treatment) inside of a physical therapy office called La Jolla Spine & Sport www.spineandsport.com This was an incredible experience for me as I was able to perform massage in a medical environment and work alongside some wonderful physical therapists and physicians. It was so rewarding that I quickly found myself with more clients than I could handle. I was at a major crossroads and decided I would have to contract out some massage therapists to help me out. I was very fortunate to attract some very talented massage therapist to work with me and before long we had built a reputation on excellence in massage.
It was at this time that I knew I had to take the leap of faith and open our first clinic. I ended up finding some space in the La Jolla Professional Center in La Jolla/UTC (add direction link) This was a very scary move for me and I had my share of common business mistakes. I like to think that I have learned and grown from each and every one. At this time we operated as a group of massage therapists that were all focused on one goal: to provide the absolute most therapeutically professional massage available. We began providing the post event sports massage at many of the local running races and triathlons. I was fortunate enough to meet Rick Kozlowski the event director for www.kozenterprises.com This was such a great opportunity and an absolute dream for me: To be able to provide massage for athletes. After all, I am athlete myself, a surfing athlete who enjoys mountain biking. I did not know at the time that I was going to become a Triathlete. With the encouragement of my new friends, Including, Sergio Borges, triathlon coach, www.sandiegoxtraining.com. I was off to the races and participating and having a blast doing it!
Our clinic in La Jolla/UTC is comprised of 6 treatment rooms and we were beginning to feel the need for an expansion. We have had great success and our clients love our service, but I knew something had to change in order for us to really grow into my vision. I realized that operation as a referral based massage clinic that is comprised of independent massage therapists had its limitations. I also realized that our clients were not really coming in for a Swedish, deep tissue, or sports massage, they were coming in to achieve a desired result or outcome. It is at this time that I decided that we would grow our team of massage therapists with an employee structure and offer our wonderful client’s outcome based massage services.
It is a very exiting time for all of our team as we have opened another clinic in Solana Beach on Via De La Valle (add link). We have 6 treatment rooms there to serve our north county residents. If you have not been by yet, stop on in and say Hi. If the rooms are open you can take a look at the different themes. We have an Olympic Room, dedicated to all our athletes at the Olympic Training Center, Chula Vista www.usoc.org We have our Ironman Room, dedicated to all our Ironman Athletes, www.ironmanlive.com. We also have a Turf Club Room, Surf Room, Universe room, and a room for our Chiropractor www.lajolladc.com
My Outcome is really Simple, I am committed to two things: #1 To provide an absolutely wonderful massage experience based on exceeding our clients outcomes and expectations and #2 To provide a place of “work”(this word is used lightly) for massage therapists where they can grow professionally, therapeutically, and personally set in a fun team environment(by the way if you are a massage therapist that is passionate about massage we would like to hear from you, please click here). It is these two outcomes that dictate everything I do, everyday. Our team is 100% committed to helping you achieve your outcomes. In fact, I actually have 100% satisfaction guarantee. So, thank you for taking the time to learn about me(Sorry there was so much to say ;)) and please scroll on down to learn about the other members of our team. I am very proud of each and every one of them! Thank You for being You and your continued support!
