The Relaxation Switch
History
The relaxation switch was invented by Chris Cassidy, founder of Cassidy's Massage Clinic. The relaxation switch enables the patient/client to indicate to the therapists / doctor that the patient/client has had enough time to disrobe and is lying comfortable on the table.

In the past there has been numerous times when the doctor/therapist has walked in on the patient/client and has created an awkward and uncomfortable situation. In the past, the therapist/doctor would knock on the door to see if the client/patient was ready. In a spa setting this disrupts the goal of relaxing the client/patient and creating a serene environment.
Effectiveness
Of course, in the spa industry, one of the most important aspects is that the client is relaxed and is able to not have to worry about anything. If the client gets undressed then forgot something by the chair they have to lie there and wonder when the therapists is coming in. The therapists is sitting outside the door and wondering when their client is disrobed and comfortable on the table.
Psychology
The client/therapist is lying on the table they are reading a sheet/tv monitor that takes them through the process of relaxation. This guided imagery is helpful in creating a serenity of the mind which leads to the serenity/relaxation of the body. The physical action of switching the switch leads to psychological switch in the mind from dealing with the daily stresses to beginning the relaxation process.

The relaxation switch has a patent pending with the United States Patent Office.
