Deep Tissue Massage

How can Deep Tissue massage help you?

Sports Massage

PRE-EVENT: A quick treatment (rhythmic pumping) is a supplement to a warm up. It boosts circulation and increases flexibility and range of motion, thereby reducing muscle pain and soreness, leaving muscles relaxed and ready for action. Pre-event massage can help prevent muscle and tendon injuries and reduce the strain and discomfort of training. It can also be a great psychological advantage in competition.

POST-EVENT: Recovery after a competition involves not only the normalization and repair of tissue, but also general relaxation and mental calming. Post-event sports massage increases circulation to quicken the removal of fatigue toxins, relieve muscular spasms, and prevent soreness. It is used to assist athletes in recovery and in regaining their pre-event condition by relaxing tight, fatigued muscles, tendons and ligaments.

TRAINING: Throughout training and rigorous regular athletic activity, massage helps to prevent injuries. Areas of muscular stress can result from repetitive or stressful motion and are typically precursors to injury. Sports massage assists in relieving muscular stress and preventing injuries, enabling harder and more consistent training. Adequate recovery is also a major factor in avoiding nagging minor injuries that inhibit maximum performance.

Thai Massage

Thai Massage consists of a technique that uses slow, rhythmic compressions and stretches along the body's energy lines, also called sen in Thai. Over 70,000 sen are said to exist within the body, and Thai Massage concentrates on applying pressure along 10 of the most important sen using the palms of the hands, thumbs, elbows, and feet. The effort from the practitioner works to free tension within the body. Practitioners also position the body into yoga-like poses and gently rock the body to more deeply open joints and facilitate limbering.

Swedish Massage

The most common form of massage, Swedish massage is mainly utilized to relax tense muscles and create a sense of well-being. This massage treatment is best applied to individuals who are not suffering from pain but who prefer lighter pressure and a consistent flow throughout the massage.

This is a great treatment for someone who is new to massage or to be given as a gift for the stressed-out individual. Having this treatment in the comfort of your home allows you to enjoy the benefits of this treatment for a longer period of time.

Hot Stone Massage

Hot Stone Massage is an ancient healing art for physical and spiritual balancing. The specially selected massage stones are known generators of energy - they give to an area that is deficient and help move it away from places of excess, promoting a harmonizing and cleansing effect. This brings about a soothing meditative state of quietude, calmness and balance. Utilizing various techniques as well as warm and/or cold stones, therapeutic stone massage relaxes the body at its deepest level, creates harmony and creates a positive energy flow, thus promoting a sense of balance and peace.

In many ways a stone massage session is similar to any other type of massage. The stones are heated (usually to about 130°F or 34°C) or frozen prior to the client's arrival. Massage oil is spread on the client's back and legs. The stones are then worked over the body. The client turns over and the process is repeated on the arms, hands, and fingers. The final parts to be massaged are the neck, head, and face.
